UFC: Nottingham card finalised with Manuwa debut

A light-heavyweight bout between Kyle Kingsbury (11-4 MMA, 4-3 UFC) and promotional newcomer Jimi Manuwa (11-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) is now official for UFC on FUEL TV 5.

UFC on FUEL TV 5 is set for September 29 at the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham. The main card airs live on FUEL TV following prelims on Facebook. Kingsbury versus Manuwa will be part of the prelims.

Kingsbury finds himself in a must-win situation following back-to-back losses to Stephan Bonnar (decision) and Glover Teixeira (first-round submission).

Prior to the setbacks, “The Ultimate Fighter 8” cast member was riding a four-fight win streak that included victories over Razak Al-Hassan, Jared Hamman, Ricardo Romero and Fabio Maldonado.

Manuwa, meanwhile, launched his pro career in 2008 with just three weeks of training. However, the English fighter has breezed through competition with 11 stoppage victories (nine in the first round) in 11 career fights. All of the wins but one have come via knockout/TKO.

Manuwa, the reigning UCMMA 205-pound champ, most recently scored a TKO victory over Anthony Rea at BAMMA 8 in December.

The UFC on FUEL TV 5 card includes:

Stipe Miocic vs. Stefan Struve
Dan Hardy vs. Amir Sadollah
Yves Jabouin vs. Brad Pickett
Paul Sass vs. Matt Wiman
